Annual Zone Institutes for past, present and future officers of Rotary International are an important part of Rotary International’s administration and training. Held in a different city each year, organising committees devote much time and effort to planning the program and entertainment. The Institute for Australian-based Rotary Districts (Zones 7a and 8a) was held in Launceston, Tasmania, and the Institute for New Zealand-based Districts in Napier. Our cover this month is a tribute to the spectacular Art Deco theme dinner organised at the Napier Institute. All patrons came in appropriate dress and the largest photograph shows R.I. President Nominee Bill Boyd being greeted in an unusual manner by governors nominee who will serve in the 2006/2007 year of his presidency. From left, they are Merv Huxford (9910), Warwick Pleass (9920), Pat Clay (9970), Dave Preston (9980) and
Graham Douglass (9940). (See report, pages 24 and 25).
