Staged around beautiful Lake Taupo (New Zealand’s largest lake), contestants in the Wattyl Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge cover 160km in conditions that can vary from year to year. The Rotary Club of Taupo Moana, N.Z., joins Taupo Nui-a-Tia College to stage the race annually and is proud of the event’s status as Australasia’s cycling event with the best support. The challenge was launched in 1977 with 26 cyclists and Taupo Moana Rotarians are delighted the number of competitors topped 10,000 for the first time in Rotary’s Centenary year.
