NOVEMBER 2002

COVER report

The PolioPlus campaign was begun by Rotarians in 1986-87. At that time the sight pictured on this month’s front cover was unfortunately common throughout the world.

The present polio eradication fund raising campaign is a challenge Rotarians worldwide are facing as they move toward eradication of polio by 2005, the year Rotary International will celebrate 100 years of service to the world.

When polio is eradicated, Rotary’s legacy to the world will finally become known and the front page image will be a thing of the past. See pages 23 and 24 for reports on Rotary meeting the challenge of polio eradication.
