PURCHASE ‘PIN IT FOR POLIO’ PINS!
At last! The chance to develop a national ‘Rotary Day’ in New Zealand, Australia and all near island nations.
Rotary Districts and Clubs are urged to get behind The Australian and New Zealand Rotary Foundation Trusts and adopt the concept of February 23 as ‘Rotary Day’ across the region.
Rotary Down Under will order bulk supplies of the striking red ‘END POLIO NOW’ pin at a substantially discounted price from Rotary International. The pins will be sold to Rotary clubs for resale in their communities for $3 each, with $1.50 to cover costs and $1.50 to be donated to the final year of the Gates Challenge – in the name of the Rotary Club making the sales.
Every pin will be fixed to a printed card with a brief message underlining the vital nature of the Polio campaign for the children of the world.
Clubs are encouraged to adopt the END POLIO NOW pin sales as a fund raising exercise associated with other activities on Rotary Day next February – community awards nights, community main street barbecues with appropriate signage, school walkathons or swimathons, and Polio information days at local schools are just a few ideas. Any event that may attract community attention – and awareness of the need for continuing immunisation of the children of the world – is important.
