Now, you are into your space on the remote computer

Make sure you are transferring files into the correct place.

11)

To check your work, open the pages on the internet and 'refresh'.

Sometimes you need to allow a few minutes for the pages to be seen, but as a general rule they should be visible immediately. IF they are not then something is wrong.

You may not have transferred your files (pages) to the right folder.

If you Right click on a missing page or image (when viewed on the internet) and,in the box that appears, under properties you will findinformation on the page or picture that will also give you the path i.e. the address of that particular missing part. You can then go back to your ftp program to see if the missing part is in fact where it is supposed to be.

Most people make the mistake of transferring the whole folder containing the website on their computer. You should transfer the contents of this folder to your space on the remote computer.

Make sure your images are also transferred. Images MUST BE within the folder containing your club website on your computer when they are inserted into a page. Some programs create a folder named for the page you are working on. If this happens then these folders must also be transferred.

Your opening page should be index.htm, if it isn't you must contact us at rotarnet@rotarydownunder.com.au so we can change the link from rotarnet.

Good luck
