The RYDA Program is aimed at Year 11 students who are on the verge of driving or who, at least, are actively thinking about driving. The program targets “driver awareness” and “attitudinal change” and is not a driving instruction program as such. The one day course is held at a nonschool
site and comprises six 30 minute modules. The modules are Stopping Distances, Hazard
Perception, Safe Celebrating & Fatigue, You Choose, Accident Survivor and The Real Cost of The modules are presented by professionals eg. local police, drug and alcohol counsellors, certified driving instructors, officers from the Office of Fair Trading and accident survivors from the NSW Brain Injury Association. The RYDA Program has been developed in consultation with the RTA and the NSW governement departments of Education & Training, Health and Police. For further information contact Ian Robertson, |
